Dr. Karen M. Clark Scholarship

The Oklahoma City Chapter of Chums, Inc. established a scholarship program in 2009 to help youth who pursue post-high school education. Graduating seniors who will attend a college or vocational school for the first time and are from the Oklahoma City, Edmond, Putnam City, Millwood, Choctaw, Deer Creek, Mid-Del Schools and Charter Schools in those districts are eligible to apply. Dr. Karen M. Clark, founder and first president of the Oklahoma City Chapter of Chums, Inc., served in education as a professor, department chair and administrator of the State Department of Education, St. Gregory's College and Langston University. The Chapter officially named the scholarship in honor of her achievements and commitment to education. The Chapter's annual “I’m Every Woman” luncheon helps fund the scholarships.
