Oklahoma City Chums to recognize women who make a difference at annual “I’m Every Woman” luncheon

​

 

(Oklahoma City) The Oklahoma City Chapter of Chums, Inc. will recognize three accomplished women at its annual “I’m Every Woman” luncheon on September 22, 2018 at Quail Creek Golf and Country Club. The annual event recognizes outstanding women for their service, achievements and contributions to our community.  

 

Ms. Carolyn Gray, Director of HR Solutions for Oklahoma City Public Schools; Mrs. Clotiel Howard, Executive Director of Hope For The Future non-profit organization; and Rev. Alice Richardson, author and Associate Pastor of Prospect Church will be honored.

 

“These women truly embody the spirit of I’m Every Woman.  Their efforts impact many people’s lives and benefit our community. They make a difference and in doing so have earned our respect and admiration,” said President Renita Crump.

 

The Chapter will also present $1,000 scholarships to 2018 high school graduates Mallory Hudson, Edmond Santa Fe High School and Avani Smith, Classen School of Advanced Studies. 

 

The “I’m Every Woman” luncheon supports the Dr. Karen M. Clark Scholarship.  Organizer and past president of the Oklahoma City Chapter of Chums, Inc., Dr. Karen M. Clark served for more than 20 years in education as a professor, department chair and administrator at the State Department of Education, St. Gregory College and Langston University.  The scholarship is named in honor of her achievements and commitment to education.

Chums, Inc. is a national non-profit 501C3 organization of women who use their talents in service to the community to promote civic, cultural, educational and social improvement. The national theme, “listen to the children, enrich their lives” guides each chapter’s efforts to help children develop their intellectual, moral, emotional, physical, and social potential.

 

The Oklahoma City Chapter current members include: Chums, Inc. The Oklahoma City Chapter, chartered in 2007, will host the 59th Annual Chums, Inc. National Conclave in Oklahoma City in October 2019.
